Eco-Rx (OTC: ERXX), producer ofproprietary air purification products announced that it is now developing asmaller companion unit to compliment its Master Series RX 400. Earlycustomer response to its initial offering indicates a smaller unit isdesirable as the Company's first line extension. It will be perfect for usein areas like bedrooms, nurseries and smaller offices. The smaller model,designated the RX 300, utilizes the same technology available in the largerunit. With Eco-Rx technology, high-intensity ultraviolet radiation (UVC)inside a replaceable cartridge destroys airborne bacteria and viruses,de-activates allergens, spores and mold. As with the RX 400, the RX 300will kill over 99% of pathogens on a first pass basis.
Working with a respected engineering firm located in the high technologybelt west of Boston, Massachusetts, Eco-Rx is designing the next logicalproduct for its line. In addition to its smaller more compact size,(approximately 1/3rd smaller) it has the added flexibility of standing onthe floor or by using a special bracket, can be mounted on the wall. Wallmounting is especially important to some of Eco-Rx's target customers wherefloor space is at a premium.
Two of these major areas of interest are the medical and the hospitalitymarkets. For example, in 2004 there were over 800,000 beds in the acutecare hospitals alone. (USA Today 1/3/2006) US labor statistics for theyear 2004 counted over 700,000 doctors and dentists along with anadditional 3,200,000 other medical personnel indicating a large medicalmarket opportunity for Eco-Rx products.
In the United States, there are over 4,440,000 hotel and motel rooms in2005, within more than 47,800 properties (AHLA). Many resorts, hotel andmotel chains currently offer special rooms and areas for those seeking asafer environment. The Model RX 300 will be perfect for this use. Toincrease its appeal in this market, the RX 300 will be available forprivate labeling in a variety of colors to compliment various design andcolor schemes
The new unit will be available in 110 volt and 220 volt versions. Thesmaller 220 volt units will have special appeal in a number of Pacific Rimmarkets e.g. Japan where the size of homes and offices are much smallerthan in the US.
