JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU; TSX: JDU) today announced that three of its triple-play test products won high marks in this year's Diamond Technology rating from Broadband Gear Report's (BGR) 2006 Diamond Technology Review Panel. These products included the NetComplete(TM) VoIP service assurance solution for cable operators, which received the highest assigned score -- a 4.5 out of a possible five.

BGR called JDSU's NetComplete VoIP service assurance solution "an excellent product with technical features and performance that provide clear and substantial benefits." Only eight of the 31 products reviewed this year received a 4.5 Diamond rating. No product has ever scored higher than a 4.5 in the two years of this program.

The judges included Wayne Hall, vice president of engineering for Comcast; Tom Gorman, vice president of operations engineering for Charter; Robert Schaefer, founder and senior technologist, Technology Planners; Paul Stephens, vice president of technical operations, Greensboro division for Time Warner Cable; and Gene White, vice president of engineering for Bright House. Other JDSU products which rated highly by BGR included the NetComplete Digital and IP Video Service Monitoring Application featuring the QT-1100 and the DSAM-6000, which it called "solid products with viable attributes that set them apart."

JDSU will display these and other products and solutions supporting triple-play deployment of VoIP, high-speed data (HSD) and digital/analog video services at SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo 2006 in Denver, June 21-23, booth number 1475.

"All three of the JDSU solutions reviewed by our panel of engineering experts received strong marks," said Laura Hamilton, vice president and editor-in-chief at Broadband Gear Report. "The Diamond Technology Review's 2006 judges were very candid in their evaluations, so JDSU's scores speak for themselves in terms of the products' potential in the hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) space." "We take great pride in our product innovation and commitment to help ensure reliable, efficient and cost-effective triple-play service deployment such as VoIP, digital and IP video for our customers," said Kevin Oliver, vice president of marketing for the cable networks business unit of JDSU's Communications Test and Measurement Group. "Receiving such high scores from some of the industry's biggest names on Broadband Gear Report's Diamond Review panel is very rewarding."

The Diamond Technology Review is led by Broadband Gear Report, the cable telecom industry's first electronic product and deployment alert service. It was launched in 2004 in response to the growing demand for an electronic "update" service on products and deployments to help broadband engineers maintain grow and increase the profits of their systems.
