Leadis Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: LDIS), a leading mixed-signal semiconductor developer of color display driver ICs for small panel displays, today announced production volume shipments of the LDS191, a 262K color STN driver IC with integrated controller supporting 132 (RGB) x 162 and 128 (RGB) x 160 resolutions. The LDS191 is the second member of Leadis' new family of advanced process technology color STN products to reach volume production status. The device combines FRC (Frame Rate Control) and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control with Multiple Line Addressing architecture to produce vivid color and high-contrast images at low power consumption levels, resulting in superior video performance.

"Multimedia features are migrating to a progressively wider range of mobile phone offerings," said Paul Novell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "With its enhanced video display capability and low power architecture, the LDS191 is an outstanding solution for value-driven multimedia phones."

About the LDS191

The LDS191 262K color STN LCD driver IC is a highly-integrated, high- performance device with integrated display RAM, on-chip oscillator, and temperature compensation for adjustment of VCLD and frame frequency, providing fine tuning of the screen for optical visual performance.

In addition, the LDS191 includes advanced programmable display features such as area scrolling and partial display mode for power-reducing screen saver controls, block inversion for low cross talk, and color depth selection for enhanced screen performance.
