Strategic Vista International Inc. (TSX: SVI), a global provider of digital video and security surveillance products, today announced that it is changing its name to LOREX Technology Inc. (TSX: LOX).


Since the Company's inception in 1997, Strategic Vista International Inc. has grown into a recognized product development company with a dominant brand, LOREX. "Our new name recognizes the strength of our major brand," says Bernie Klein, Chairman and CEO of SVII. Management believes the change to LOREX synchronizes well with our plan to introduce new products, pursue new distribution channels and enter new global markets. With Henry Schnurbach joining us as CEO effective April 1st, we have a strong leader to take us to the next phase of our Company's growth."


The new corporate name, and new branding, is an integral part of a growth strategy that will help the Company capitalize on the double digit growth expected in the broad security segment, continue to expand its product line and enter new markets in Europe and Asia.


The Company's shares on The Toronto Stock Exchange, effective today, will trade under its new name LOREX Technology Inc. and new trading symbol LOX.


The Company is also announcing the election of Mr. Gerald Slan as a Director of the Company and Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Slan's knowledge of the capital markets and his experience as a director for a number of organizations should immensely assist the Company.
