Secretary General of the United Nations recently warned that the potential danger from the rapidly growing biotechnology industry is growing exponentially. With all the recent advances in sciences related to germs and viruses, there is a tremendous risk of devastating biological attacks should the knowledge fall in the wrong hands. In his speech, Mr. Annan warned of "catastrophic" results if recent advances in biotechnology, including gene manipulation and work with viruses, fell into terrorists' hands.

"As biological research expands, and technologies become increasingly accessible, this potential for accidental or intentional harm grows exponentially," he said, according to the text of his speech. "Even novices working in small laboratories will be able to carry out gene manipulation."

Universal Detection Technology (http://www.udetection.com) (OTC Bulletin Board: UDTT) is a developer of technologies that detect bio-terrorism and other infectious health threats. The Company has co- developed a real-time continuous anthrax detector based on technology developed by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and exclusively licensed to Universal Detection Technology.

"Today we are living under a constant threat of terrorism. Our enemies are constantly evolving and most experts believe that it is only a matter of time before terrorists will use biological weapons against the US. Anthrax has already been used against the US in 2001 and the culprits behind those attacks have never been found. At UDTT, we constantly seek to find vulnerabilities and to come up with solutions to counter possible terrorist threats. Through our counter terrorism training and technologies we hope to enhance national security and build complete and appropriate response protocols for national infrastructure including transportation hubs, recreational venues and the like," said Jacques Tizabi, UDTT's CEO.

UDTT recently announced the sale of two units of BSM-2000 to the Government of the United Kingdom and hopes to place more units at strategic government and private locations around the globe.
