Wall Street News Alert's "stocks to watch" this morning are: Unicorp Inc., (OTCBB: UCPI), Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB), AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV) and XTO Energy Inc. (NYSE: XTO).
Unicorp Inc., (OTCBB: UCPI) has issued additional news concerning its North Laurel Ridge Prospect that should appeal to aggressive investors this morning! Yesterday after the markets closed, the company (engaged in the acquisition, development, exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas) issued a press release announcing that it has again increased its working interest position in its North Laurel Ridge Prospect located in Iberville Parish, Louisiana from 12% to 21%.
This could be good news for the company. According to the press release, the log indicated 15 feet of oil pay in the Cibicides hazzardi sand and the estimated reserves are unknown. Unicorp will not know the new expectations until it has completed the well and begins producing. It is still anticipated that gross oil production will be approximately 400 barrels of oil per day. Operations to complete the well are now expected to begin within two weeks.
Wall Street News Alert is continuing to alert investors to monitor the progress of Unicorp as the company continues to release positive news! Unicorp now has a 21% working interest and an approximate 16% net revenue interest in the well.
"We believe the cost forward economics make sense for us to again increase our position," stated Arthur Ley, COO of Unicorp. "There is slightly more risk in this well due to the fact that we do not have porosity logs across the zone of interest."
Earlier this month, the company announced that its St. Martinville Prospect located in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana has been drilled to 7000 feet to date. The directional drilling phase has started and will be drilled to a depth of approximately 13,000 feet to test the Marg Tex-3 sands as seen in the Trinity Resources Ranzino Well No. 1. Mr Ley stated in that press release, "We believe that we will be finished drilling and should be logging the well within three weeks at which time we will know if the well is successful." Total reserves are estimated to be 1,000,000 barrels of oil and Unicorp will have an 18.5% net revenue interest.
Before the news hit the wires, Unicorp's stock closed yesterday at Thirty Eight cents a share.
